I’m really excited about the opportunity to be part of the Shaw and Crompton Community Hub. I’m passionate about creating safe, supportive spaces where people feel valued, heard, and connected, and that’s exactly what drew me to this community. I want to contribute to a hub that brings people together, strengthens local relationships, and makes a positive difference in everyday lives.

In my role as a children’s home manager, I’ve developed a blend of skills that I believe would be a real asset to the hub:

• Strong safeguarding awareness and a deep understanding of how to create environments where people feel safe and respected.
• Leadership and team‑building, ensuring staff and young people feel supported, motivated, and empowered.
• Crisis management and calm decision‑making, especially in emotionally charged or complex situations.
• Community partnership experience, working closely with schools, social workers, health professionals, and local organisations.
• A nurturing, person‑centred approach, always focusing on wellbeing, inclusion, and positive outcomes.

These skills translate naturally into community work—supporting people, building trust, and helping create a space where everyone feels welcome.

Fun Fact About Me:

I never back down from a themed fancy‑dress event. Give me a costume challenge and I’m all in—glitter, wigs, props, the lot. It’s my favourite way to bring a bit of joy and laughter into any group.
